I'm not sure about most of you but for my friends and I, we tend to get our cravings for Bak Kut Teh every once in awhile. Best thing about Bak Kut Teh is that you can have if at anytime of the day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and now... even Supper!

My favourite style of Bak Kut Teh will be the Teochew style which can be found in most places in Singapore. This is the one with the peppery soup base as compared to the other style which is mostly served in a claypot and has a much herbal taste to it.

Eunos MRT Bak Kut Teh
So recently I had the time to pop by a friend's family run business, which is the Eunos MRT Bak Kut Teh. No prizes guessing where this place is as the name says it all, just a stone's throw away from the Eunos Mrt Station. Previously the stall was located in Paya Lebar as
"星都肉骨茶" then they relocated to Eunos in 1994 and has been there since then :)
This makes is really easy to visit since it's situated right next to the MRT station!
We had the braised pig trotters, intestines, You Tiao, Tau Kee, Salted Vegetables and of course.. Pork ribs!
For this post I will jump into some of the main dishes that we had.
Braised Pork Trotters
This has probably got to be one of my favourite dishes and one that I love! Don't underestimate the size of the bowl as there's a fairly good portion of meat that I could find inside. The meat is soft and tender and really tasty! The sauce was just nice, not too salty nor oily which makes this dish really easy to enjoy.

Pig Intestines
I'm usually not a fan of pig intestines but the ones here are well cooked in their speciality sauce which goes well with rice. The intestines are well cleaned to avoid the 'smell' that would usually come when it isn't washed throughly. The texture is also cooked to the right amount of chewy!

Bak Kut Teh
And then of course there is the main dish- BKT! Not sure about you but I'm a huge fan of the peppery soup type of BKT. I was instantly drawn to the soup as it had the right amount of pepper, paired with the sweetness of the pork, this dish had the perfect balance.
The pork used is fresh and cooked to the right texture, and the meat slides off the bone really easy and the combination with the rice and other dishes just made the dish really delicious!
Overall I definitely enjoyed my dinner at Eunos Bak Kut Teh and I'm glad know that this hidden jem isn't located far from where I stay (yay for me!!!) and for those who lives in the East why not pop by and patronise when your BKT craving kicks in!
